Haglund's Deformity

Heel bumps, or Haglund's Deformity, are a bone enlargement on the back of the heel bone. These usually occur for athletes when the shoes they wear rub up against the hell, and they can be aggravated by the height or stictching of a heel counter of a particular shoe.  The result is a painful bump or bumps on the heel that make exercising very difficult. Another term used for this condition is pump bump because it can requently occur with the wearing of high heels as well.*

The best thing to protect your feet from the damage of "Pump Bump" is to quit wearing high heels altogether.  However, this can be very difficult for fashion die hards and women in the professional world.  Below are some tips for safe high heel wearing for the women who just can't give up their stilettos.

  1. Make Sure Your Heels Fit!
